We are currently recruiting for a Senior Protection Engineer to be based in Perth for our client who operate in the power transmission & distribution industry.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing designs associated with HV/UHV substations and renewables systems including system modelling, fault analysis, protection report and relays setting.
- Responsible to undertake CT and VT calculations, develop technical specifications for protection equipment (template, and project specific) as undertaking general Electrical design, network integration and connection
- Create calculations and relay settings files
- Develop secondary designs for substations
- Generate reports, specifications, and project tender documents
- Collaborate with clients and contractors to define project requirements
- Provide technical and construction support
- Assist in scoping and proposal preparation
- Work alongside a diverse team of engineers
- Offer high-level technical guidance and mentorship to mid-level and junior engineers
- Perform quality assurance on design drawings, settings, and reports produced by the team
- Experience in the Power Utilities sector
- Experience working on projects for utilities would be highly regarded
- Proficient in substation primary and secondary design for substations ranging from 11kV to 330kV
- Experienced in creating relay settings files for various major protection relay manufacturers
- Demonstrated proficiency in power system modeling using software
- Knowledge of protection schemes and IEC61850 standards.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
