We are currently recruiting for a Senior Protection Engineer based in Perth to work for one of our clients who is a leading organisation in the Transmission & Distribution sector.
This role will play a key part in ensuring network reliability, system stability, and compliance with Australian standards, providing both technical expertise and project delivery support across a range of complex electrical infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities
- Develop protection system designs, settings files, and coordination studies for HV networks.
- Produce protection schemes including single-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, logic diagrams, and relay configuration files.
- Configure, test, and validate protection relays from major manufacturers
- Prepare protection reports, calculations, and technical documentation to meet utility and project standards.
- Support commissioning teams during FAT, SAT, and on-site testing of protection systems.
- Ensure all design and testing activities comply with Australian standards, DNSP/TNSP requirements, and internal quality processes.
- Provide technical support during project design, construction, and energisation phases.
- Work collaboratively with internal engineering teams, external clients, and delivery partners to achieve project outcomes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of protection design templates, processes, and tools.
- Experience in protection engineering within utilities, consultancies, EPC contractors, or system operators.
- Strong understanding of protection principles, relay logic, fault calculations, and network analysis for HV systems.
- Experience producing protection settings, schemes, and calculations for substations and transmission/distribution assets.
- Demonstrated capability in relay configuration and testing
- Proven experience working within multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
