Senior Project Engineer

We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join a growing WA-owned electrical and renewable energy business delivering commercial solar, battery storage and broader electrical projects across Western Australia.

This is a predominantly office-based position with travel to project sites as required. You will be involved across the full project lifecycle, from estimating and technical scoping through to planning, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.

The role is well suited to a hands-on Project Engineer who enjoys taking ownership of project delivery, working directly with clients and coordinating closely with engineering, electrical, construction and delivery teams to achieve successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate projects from initial technical assessment and planning through construction, commissioning and handover.

• Prepare site estimates, project costings and scopes of work, ensuring accurate labour, material and equipment requirements.

• Work directly with clients, providing project updates, resolving technical queries and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships throughout delivery.

• Review project specifications, drawings, designs and technical documentation.

• Support tendering, budgeting and project forecasting activities.

• Coordinate procurement of equipment, materials and subcontracted services.

• Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, variations and commercial requirements.

• Coordinate internal engineering, electrical, construction and subcontractor resources.

• Undertake site inspections and assessments to confirm constructability, progress and compliance.

• Provide technical support to site teams throughout project delivery.

• Manage RFIs, variations, quality documentation and project close-out requirements.

• Ensure works are completed in accordance with relevant Australian Standards, contractual requirements and company HSEQ procedures.

• Support testing, commissioning, handover and completion documentation.

• Identify project risks and proactively develop solutions to maintain programme, budget and quality outcomes.

Required Experience

• Experience within electrical infrastructure, commercial solar, battery storage or renewable energy projects.

• Demonstrated experience managing projects across multiple stages of the project lifecycle.

• Strong technical understanding of electrical construction and project delivery.

• Experience preparing estimates, project costings and scopes of work.

• Comfortable working directly with clients and managing technical and commercial discussions.

• Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, procurement, cost control and risk management.

• Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders including clients, suppliers, subcontractors, engineers and site teams.

• Willingness and ability to travel to project sites when required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
