Senior Manager – Energy Markets & Regulation

Overview:
We are seeking a high-calibre Manager or Senior Manager in Sydney to deliver economic and regulatory advisory across Australia’s electricity sector.

This role will focus on electricity transmission and wholesale market regulation, supporting government, utilities, investors, and market participants with evidence-based advice that shapes policy, investment decisions, and regulatory frameworks.
Responsibilities:

• Lead delivery of advisory engagements across electricity market regulation, policy, and reform
• Provide strategic and commercial advice on transmission and wholesale market frameworks
• Interpret and apply regulatory regimes to inform government policy and market participant decisions
• Support network revenue determinations, regulatory resets, and related submissions
• Undertake financial and economic analysis including WACC, PTRM, and scenario modelling
• Engage with regulators, utilities, investors, and industry stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes
• Manage workstreams and junior team members to ensure delivery against tight deadlines
• Contribute to thought leadership across energy market reform, decarbonisation, and sustainability

Required Experience:

• 5+ years’ experience in economic regulation within consulting, government, utilities, or market participants
• Strong understanding of electricity transmission and wholesale market regulation
• Experience supporting or advising on network revenue determinations and regulatory frameworks
• Ability to apply financial and economic analysis including WACC and regulatory modelling
• Knowledge of the Australian National Electricity Market and associated frameworks
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across senior audiences
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality outputs in fast-paced environments

Qualifications:

• Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Law, or a related discipline.
