Senior Electrical Engineer Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a leading EPC contractor delivering complex power generation projects across Australia.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of electrical engineering activities across the full project lifecycle, from concept and detailed design through procurement, construction support, commissioning and final handover.
Working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, you will coordinate electrical design activities, collaborate with clients and contractors, mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continual improvement of engineering standards and project delivery.
Responsibilities

• Design and review electrical systems for power generation projects, including HV switchrooms, distribution systems, protection panels, UPS/battery systems, earthing and lightning protection.
• Coordinate electrical engineering activities across multiple projects from concept through to commissioning.
• Prepare and review detailed electrical designs, technical documentation, drawings and engineering deliverables.
• Coordinate engineers, drafters and external consultants to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Work closely with clients, contractors and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support tender preparation by providing technical input and engineering estimates.
• Assist with equipment specification, supplier evaluation and procurement activities.
• Provide commissioning and testing support during project delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continual improvement of engineering systems, standards and design processes.

Required Experience

• Previous experience delivering electrical engineering projects within power generation, industrial, utilities or heavy infrastructure sectors.
• Strong understanding of electrical design through detailed design, construction support and commissioning.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams and managing technical interfaces.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors and suppliers.
• Experience producing technical documentation, specifications and engineering reports.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Chartered status or working towards Chartership is advantageous.
