Amy Smith
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join an established energy organisation, supporting the development of a major power generation project in Western Australia. This would be a 12 month fixed term contract.

This is a client-side role, acting as the Owner’s Representative and leading the project through pre-feasibility and feasibility phases through to Final Investment Decision (FID). You will play a key role in coordinating stakeholders, maintaining programme integrity, and ensuring the project is positioned for successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the project through pre-feasibility and feasibility phases, progressing toward FID
  • Manage overall scope, programme, budget, risk, and key dependencies
  • Support and coordinate a partner selection process, including technical and commercial inputs
  • Act as the central interface between the client and delivery partner throughout development
  • Oversee key workstreams including grid connection, approvals, land access, and commercial readiness
  • Manage grid connection processes, including liaison with Western Power and engagement with AEMO
  • Engage with regulators, utilities, and government bodies to support project progression
  • Maintain strong governance and reporting, including preparation of senior stakeholder and board updates
  • Lead and coordinate consultants and advisors, driving outcomes through influence rather than direct authority
Required Experience
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within energy or infrastructure projects
  • Strong exposure to early-stage development (pre-feasibility, feasibility, approvals, transaction phases)
  • Experience working in a client-side or owner’s representative capacity, or managing delivery partners
  • Experience with power generation, utilities, or energy infrastructure projects
  • Understanding of grid connection processes, ideally within WA, including interaction with Western Power and AEMO
  • Ability to operate across technical, commercial, and regulatory interfaces
Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering or a related discipline
