Project Manager

A leading organisation within the energy infrastructure sector is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), substation and electrical infrastructure projects across Victoria. This role will be responsible for the end-to-end management of projects from planning and procurement through to construction, commissioning and handover.

Working closely with clients, contractors, engineers and site teams, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full project lifecycle from award through to completion and handover.
• Lead the planning, execution and delivery of BESS and substation projects.
• Develop and maintain project programmes, budgets, forecasts and resource plans.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams including engineering, construction and commissioning personnel.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers and consultants to achieve project objectives.
• Monitor project performance, progress, risks and opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and quality management requirements.
• Oversee procurement activities and support contract administration processes.
• Manage stakeholder relationships including clients, utilities, contractors and regulatory authorities.
• Facilitate project meetings and provide regular progress reporting to senior management and clients.
• Support testing, commissioning, energisation and project close-out activities.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery outcomes.

Key Requirements

• Proven experience delivering utility-scale BESS, substation or electrical infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies within construction and energy infrastructure environments.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, risk registers and commercial performance.
• Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders across engineering, construction and commissioning functions.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors and client interfaces.
• Sound understanding of safety, quality and environmental requirements on major infrastructure projects.
• Experience working within EPC, utility, contractor or renewable energy project environments.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability.
• Proficient in project reporting, planning and project management systems.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or a related discipline.
