Electrical Project Engineer

We are recruiting for Electrical Project Engineer focussed on substations for a leading company in the transmission & distribution sector to join a growing team delivering critical infrastructure located in Perth.

This role will support the delivery of high-voltage substation projects, playing a key role in engineering coordination, construction delivery, and stakeholder management across transmission and distribution projects.

You will be working on complex projects that support the transition to renewable energy, including grid upgrades, new substations, and network expansions.

Key Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end delivery of substation projects (typically 33kV - 330kV)
• Coordinate engineering design, procurement, and construction activities
• Review and manage technical documentation, drawings, and specifications
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure project alignment
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules to ensure successful delivery
• Assist with commissioning and energisation activities
• Ensure all works are completed in line with safety, quality, and compliance standards
• Identify and manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Provide on-site support during construction phases as required
• Contribute to project reporting and documentation

Required Experience

• Proven experience as a Project Engineer within substation or HV infrastructure projects
• Experience working on transmission and/or distribution networks
• Strong understanding of substation components (transformers, switchgear, protection systems, etc.)
• Experience across project lifecycle (design, construction, commissioning)
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a project environment
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project controls

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
