Electrical Engineer – Power Generation

Overview
We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to join a leading EPC contractor delivering complex power generation projects across Australia.
As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of EPC projects, providing technical expertise across the full project lifecycle from concept and detailed design through procurement, construction, commissioning and final handover. Working alongside a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will collaborate with clients, contractors and suppliers to deliver high-quality engineering solutions while contributing to the continual improvement of engineering standards and project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and documentation of electrical systems including HV switchrooms, distribution boards, protection panels, UPS/battery systems, earthing and lightning protection.
• Coordinate and support the delivery of electrical engineering activities across multiple concurrent EPC projects.
• Prepare and review detailed electrical designs, technical documentation, specifications and engineering deliverables.
• Deliver electrical engineering solutions from concept and detailed design through procurement, construction, commissioning and final handover.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, consultants and suppliers to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Provide technical support during tender preparation, including engineering input and estimating activities.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and suppliers throughout all stages of project delivery.
• Assist with equipment specification, supplier evaluation and procurement activities.
• Perform commissioning and testing activities while providing technical support throughout project delivery.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across engineering standards, systems and design processes.

Required Experience

• Demonstrated experience delivering electrical engineering projects within an EPC or turnkey project environment.
• Strong understanding of the full electrical engineering project lifecycle, from concept and detailed design through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Experience delivering projects within the power generation or heavy industrial sectors.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, consultants, suppliers and contractors.
• Experience supporting tender preparation, engineering estimates and technical proposals.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple project priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
