Construction Manager

We are recruiting for a Construction Manager to join a growing renewables business delivering utility scale solar, battery storage and wind projects. You will lead site delivery from mobilisation through grid connection, energisation and commissioning. The role carries genuine ownership of safety, programme, cost and subcontractor performance.

It suits a hands on site leader who thrives in remote environments on a FIFO roster. The business is well capitalised with a multi gigawatt pipeline across Australia. Construction managers from mining, transmission or major civil backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Lead site construction on utility scale solar farms, BESS and hybrid solar plus storage projects

• Manage civil, piling, mechanical installation, DC and AC electrical, and HV substation scopes

• Oversee BESS installation including foundations, enclosure placement, PCS, transformers and cabling

• Manage subcontractors, site supervisors and the construction workforce, including daily coordination and performance

• Coordinate grid connection works with the network service provider through to energisation and hold point testing

• Lead commissioning interfaces with OEMs, commissioning teams and owner’s engineers through to commercial operation

• Drive safety leadership on site, ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, SWMS and HV safety requirements

• Own the construction programme, budget, variations and cost reporting

• Manage delivery across a single large site or multiple smaller sites running concurrently

• Oversee QA, ITPs and handover documentation to operations and asset management teams

• Engage with landholders, Traditional Owners, councils and local communities

• Ensure environmental, cultural heritage and planning conditions are met on site

Required Experience:

• Delivery of utility scale solar, BESS or hybrid projects, with onshore wind experience well regarded

• Background with an EPC, BESS integrator, contractor or owner’s delivery team

• Exposure to grid connection, energisation and generator performance standards testing in the NEM or WEM

• Experience managing international OEMs, equipment suppliers and long lead procurement interfaces

• Experience on remote or regional sites, ideally on a FIFO roster

• Demonstrated HSE leadership and a strong safety record

• Transferable major project experience from mining, transmission or infrastructure will be considered

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in electrical, civil or mechanical engineering, construction management or a related discipline
