We are currently partnering with a leading organisation in New Zealand to secure an experienced Outage Planner based in Invercargill to support the safe and efficient delivery of planned network outages.
This role will play a critical part in coordinating outage schedules across a complex transmission and/or distribution network, ensuring minimal disruption to customers while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational performance.
Working closely with operations, engineering, and field delivery teams, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimising outages to support maintenance, upgrades, and capital works programmes.

Working closely with operations, engineering, and field delivery teams, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimising outages to support maintenance, upgrades, and capital works programmes.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily site operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable performance
- Supervise contractors and ensure all works meet safety, quality, and compliance standards
- Monitor asset performance and coordinate maintenance to maximise availability
- Review and track planned and corrective maintenance activities
- Conduct site inspections and identify risks, hazards, and improvement opportunities
- Ensure compliance with all HSE, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions
- Liaise with control room, contractors, and internal teams on outages and performance
- Manage site inventory, tools, and spare parts
- Engage with local stakeholders and support community relations
- Experience in renewable energy or power generation operations
- Background in site supervision, operations, or maintenance environments
- Experience managing contractors and site-based activities
- Familiarity with SCADA, CMMS, or similar asset management systems
- Strong understanding of HSE and compliance requirements
- Degree or trade qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline
