Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Document Controller to be based in Perth in a permanent role for our client who operate in the Power Transmission & Distribution industry.
This pivotal role offers the opportunity to establish and develop the Document Control function, ensuring efficient and accurate management of all project-related documents and records.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain document control systems and procedures.
  • Manage and control the distribution, filing, and retrieval of project documents.
  • Ensure all documents are up-to-date, accurate, and comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth document flow.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure document control procedures are adhered to.
  • Act as the main point of contact for document control issues and provide guidance and support to staff.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of document management practices.
  • Implement corrective actions to address any discrepancies or non-compliance issues.
  • Ensure proper version control of documents and maintain document history.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on document control activities and status.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of document control activities to senior management.
  • Identify areas for improvement within the document control process and implement best practices.
  • Stay updated with the latest document control technologies and trends.
Required Experience:
  • Proven experience as a Document Controller, preferably within the engineering design or construction sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement document control systems from scratch.
  • Proficiency in using document management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with TeamBinder / InEight would be preferred but not essential.
  • Experience with document management software and systems.
  • Strong understanding of document control standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in conducting document audits and implementing corrective actions.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Information Management, or a related field – preferred but not essential.
